About 60 Southborough residents took part in the Earth Day Clean Up event last Saturday. DPW Director Karen Galligan says volunteers collected an estimated 100 bags of trash (possibly more) and covered about one-third of the town.
Some areas of town that didn’t get covered were Marlborough Road, Main Street, Chestnut Hill Road, Sears Road, Oak Hill Road, Deerfoot Road from 9 to Clifford, and Gilmore Road. These roads all have stretches of wooded shoulders that tend to collect trash.
Last weekend the DPW also distributed over 40 discounted rain barrels to Southborough residents.
