The Board of Selectmen has a new chairman. The three selectmen (actually two selectmen and one selectwoman) regularly rotate the position of chair, with each holding it for a year. The switch happens at the first meeting after the annual town election.

So it was that former chairman Bill Boland passed the baton to new chairman Sal Giorlandino at the board’s meeting on Tuesday. Giorlandio will have the chair until after the 2010 elections at which time it will likely pass to Selectwoman Bonnie Phaneuf.
