Dinner, a show, readily available childcare. What more do you need for the perfect Valentine’s date night?
Meg Hutchinson and Maura Kennedy will perform at the Steeple Coffeehouse on Saturday night. As they’ve been doing for several shows now, the Pilgrim Church Youth Group will offer babysitting services at the church. The cost is $20 for the first child and $10 each additional child. Babysitting starts at 4:00 pm, so there’s plenty of time to drop your kids off and then head out to dinner before the show. (More details here — note that you don’t have to be going to the show to take advantage of the babysitting.)
For the dinner portion of your evening, consider Tomasso. Show them your Steeple Coffeehouse ticket and you’ll get their special four-course Valentine’s menu at a discounted price. You can find out more here.
The show itself features two singer-songwriters. Here are the program notes:
Meg reminds me of a younger version of so many of the well established great singer songwriters. She has it all, fantastic melodies, well crafted songs, and strong vocals. Meg’s songs are of the variety that sound great and familiar even when you hear them for the first time. This is Meg’s second appearance at Steeple and we are very happy to have her back.
Maura Kennedy is of course best know for her work as half of the acclaimed duo the Kennedys along with her husband Pete. There have been lots of bands and backing gigs along the way as well, but now there is a solo CD, and Steeple Coffeehouse is proud to be the greater Boston CD release party! Maura is a friend of Steeple Coffeehouse and one of our favorite performers.
