Breaking news: Southborough Little Leaguers are state champions! (UPDATED)

Southborough beat defending champs Peabody Western in the state Little League championship game today by a score of 10-4.

More details as I get them.

You can head out to the Woodward School parking lot for a celebratory rally starting at 8:00 pm tonight. Next step for Southborough is representing Massachusetts in the regional finals next weekend in Bristol, CT.

Update1: Here’s some of the media coverage of the game.

Update2: Here’s a description of the game from Southborough Youth Baseball:

Southborough played its final state game Sunday night against defending New England Champion Peabody West. All the kids played at the top of their game and after a short
lead by Peabody West in the first inning 0 – 2, Southborough came roaring back and took the lead and never looked back, winning by a large margin with a final score of 10 – 4!

We are so proud of you boys and your coaches.

Can you believe some loser was passing out political pamphlets as the community came together to celebrate the 12 year olds achievements?

That was me, and they were invitations to an event for young people and families.

We were in a public place, and only one person objected, but I stopped anyway and stayed to celebrate.

Hide behind your initials all you want. I won’t.
