Southborough emergency response groups looking for volunteers

Southborough has two emergency response teams — the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) — that have banded together to support local emergency response, disaster relief, and community health and safety operations. The two groups are comprised of volunteers, and they’re looking for members.

CERT/MRC support local public safety and health organizations in a number of ways. They’re called upon for the unplanned, like traffic control for major road accidents, as well as the planned, like first aid at Summer Nights and Heritage Day, among other activities.

You can learn more about CERT/MRC by checking out the flyer below, or by visiting their website (southboroughcertmrc.org). CERT/MRC will hold their next meeting on Saturday, August 7 at 9:00 am at the Fire Station. The meeting will focus on training around shelter operations. Anyone is invited to attend to sit in on the training and meet current CERT/MRC volunteers.
