State says Mass Pike overpass is stucturally sound

From the Metrowest Daily News:

The state Department of Transportation said yesterday that the brick-sized chunks of concrete that fell from a Massachusetts Turnpike overpass onto Cordaville Road Wednesday night does not mean the bridge is failing.

“That bridge was inspected this past March and was found to be structurally sound,” said Adam Hurtubise, a spokesman for the Transportation Department. “It occasionally happens that pieces of concrete fall from a bridge. Thankfully no one was hurt.”
