UPDATED: Algonquin girls basketball falls in the state semi-finals (with photos)

It was a heartbreaker for the Algonquin girls basketball team on Tuesday night. After coming from behind at the end of regulation to force the game into overtime, the girls lost their state semi-final match to Amherst by a score of 49-45. Amherst will go on to play Andover in the Division 1 state finals on Saturday.

The girls made it to the state semi-finals after capturing the Central Division 1 championship last weekend. It was the team’s first division championship in more than 30 years.
