Look for your Scouting for Food bag on Saturday

It’s that time of year again. Southborough scouts will be filling the shelves at the Southborough Food Pantry, and they need your help. The annual Scouting for Food Drive is the biggest drive of the year for the pantry, and organizers say a good turnout will help them make through the season.

Here is some more information from the scouts on how the drive works. Be sure to look for a plastic Scouting for Food Drive on your mailbox tomorrow.

This Saturday, October 29th marks the beginning of Southborough’s Annual Scouting for Food drive.  Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts all over town will be hanging bags on mailboxes for donations to benefit the Southborough Food Pantry.  Last year over 11,000 lbs. of food was donated, and the goal for this year is 12,000 lbs. or more!

Making a donation is simple.  Just fill the bag (or more) with contributions of food, personal care, and/or paper products.  Leave any filled bags or boxes next to your mailbox by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5th, when Scouts will come and pick them up.  Please be sure to check expiration dates on food items, as the food pantry cannot distribute expired food.

The Southborough Food Pantry and the Scouts thank you for your support!
