Southborough Library gets a new sign

If you’ve been stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of Routes 30 and 85 recently, you’ve no doubt noticed the new sign that now graces the front lawn of the Southborough Library.

Library Director Jane Cain said the new sign, which was erected last month, was purchased with money donated in honor of long-time library director Judy Williams upon her passing last year, combined with money received from the Grown Ups movie production in 2009. The Library Trustees also chipped in some funds.

“It was a cross-department effort,” Cain said. “We needed a building permit from David Gusmini, Building/Zoning Department, a review by the Town Engineer John Woodsmall, and the assistance of Department of Public Works, and Facilities Department.”

Pillsbury Sign Company of Hopkinton designed and installed the sign.
