Tuesday, December 27, 2011

  • 7:57 am – Officers investigated a 911 abandoned call from a Southville Road business.
  • 8:23 am – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Pine Hill Road residence.
  • 10:44 am – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Cordaville Road residence.
  • 11:04 am – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Fairview Drive residence.
  • 11:42 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Turnpike Road business.
  • 12:43 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1:05 pm – A medical was reported at a Granuaile Road residence.
  • 3:40 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Watkins Lane residence.
  • 5:19 pm – A medical was reported at a Newton Street business.
  • 8:48 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Highland Street residence.
  • 10:23 pm – An officer responded to Main Street and Wyndemere Drive for a report of a tree down and blocking the road. The responding officer was able to remove the tree from the roadway.
  • 10:38 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Deerfoot Road residence.
  • 10:52 pm – Officers responded to a report of a tree down and blocking the road on Peggy Drive. DPW was called to the scene to cut up and remove the tree from the roadway.
  • 11:00 pm – Officers responded to Middle Road for a report of a large explosion. It was determined that a transformer had exploded, and a large tree had fallen into the roadway (blocking Mt. Vickery Road). National Grid responded to the scene.
  • 11:47 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Southwood Drive residence.

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

  • 2:08 am – An officer investigated a suspicious motor vehicle parked at the end of Ashley Road. A civil marijuana citation was issued to the passenger of the vehicle.
  • 4:20 am – Officers checked on a suspicious motor vehicle that was parked on Darlene Drive. The operator checked out o.k., and the officer cleared from the scene.
  • 8:42 am – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 8:54 am – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1:46 pm – Officer investigated a burglar alarm at a Deerfoot Road residence.
  • 4:58 pm – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident at a Turnpike Road business. No injuries were reported from the scene.
  • 6:26 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at Neary Elementary School.
  • 7:00 pm – Officers found an open door to a residence that was on the department’s vacation check request list. Officers were able to secure the door and made contact with the caretaker. Everything checked out o.k. at the residence.
  • 9:40 pm – Officers checked on a suspicious motor vehicle parked on Strawberry Hill Road. The operator checked out o.k.

Thursday, December 29, 2011

  • 12:02 am – Officers investigated a report of a possible domestic in a motor vehicle, parked on Route 85 near the T Station parking lot. The reporting party stated that the vehicle had left the area, and responding officers were unable to locate it.
  • 12:10 am – Two female juveniles were found walking on Route 85. It was determined that the females had snuck out of a sleep-over, and the parent of one of the juveniles was contacted. Both of the juveniles were returned to their home.
  • 4:38 am – A medical was reported at a Gilmore Road residence.
  • 6:57 am – A medical was reported at a Granuaile Road residence.
  • 8:19 am – A Cordaville Road business requested officers to be in the area, due to a possible problem with one of their employees.
  • 8:50 am – A Lynbrook Road resident was issued a No Trespass Order.
  • 12:04 pm – A medical was reported at a Newton Street residence.
  • 12:08 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Newton Street business.
  • 1:52 pm – A suspicious motor vehicle was reported to be parked in a driveway of a Main Street residence. Responding officers spoke with the operator- everything checked out o.k.
  • 3:13 pm – A Waterview Terrace resident reported the unauthorized use of one of his debit cards. A report was filed by the responding officer.
  • 3:58 pm – Officers responded to a Ward Road residence for an attempted burglary to the home. Two suspects fled the scene once they realized that the residents were home. The B&E attempt is currently being investigated by the SPD detective unit. (more info)
  • 9:38 pm – Southborough Officers assisted Marlborough Police with locating a Southborough resident wanted for questioning for an incident that took place in Marlborough. The resident was located and made contact with Marlborough Police.

Does anyone know what an abondoned 911 call is. Maybe someone calls 911 and hangs up before police get a chance to answer. Thank you.

Thank you to the police man for removing the tree limb from the road. I think a resident could have and should have easily done that without calling the police.

I believe an abandoned call is one where the resident dials 911 and hangs up before the call is completed. I think that as a matter of routine the police stop by the house and check on it if there is an abandoned call.

I had this happen to me once when I tried to call India. Somehow, the sequence that started the call was 911 in the call and it rang the police station. I hung up and a few minutes later the police were pulling into my driveway to make sure that everything was ok.
