Heavy rain postponed the scheduled girls lacrosse quarterfinal match on Saturday – if the weather cooperates they’ll get the game in later today – as the boys lacrosse, baseball, and girls tennis teams all advanced to the next round. For the girls softball and boys tennis teams it was the end of the road. Here’s an update on all the teams.

Algonquin boys lacrosse
After a slow start, the top-ranked Algonquin boys lacrosse team rallied to a 10-4 win over 8th-seed Westborough in the division quarterfinals on Friday. The boys will take on 4th-seed St. John’s in the semifinals on Tuesday, June 5 at 7:15 pm at Foley Stadium in Worcester.

Algonquin baseball
Last Thursday, the 10th-seed Algonquin boys baseball team upset 7th-seed Marlborough by a score of 5-3 in their first-round match. Algonquin will face 2nd-ranked Burncoat in the quarterfinals today at 4:00 pm at Burncoat.

Algonquin girls tennis
The 7th-seed Algonquin girls tennis team won their first-round match against Groton-Dunstable on Saturday morning by a score of 4-1. They’ll take on 2nd-seed Wachusett in the quarterfinals today at 3:00 pm at Wachusett.

Algonquin boys tennis
After a bye in the first round, the Algonquin boys tennis team was knocked out of the division playoffs thanks to a 3-2 loss against Shrewsbury in the quarterfinals on Friday. They finish the season with a 10-7 record.

Algonquin softball
The 10th-seed Algonquin girls softball team had seven hits in their first round match, but  lost to Shepherd Hill on Friday by a score of 3-1.
