MWDN: Solar panels stolen from job site in Southborough

A while back I told you about the huge solar array Southborough developer Bill Depietri is building on Cordaville Road near the intersection with Route 9. When complete, it will be the biggest of its kind in Metrowest. But before that happens, Depietri will have to buy some new solar panels. That’s because 14 of his were stolen from the site last week.

Reports the Metrowest Daily News:

The panels, which measure 39 inches by 50 inches, are worth about $250 each for a total loss of about $3,500, Sgt. James DeLuca said.

Capital Group owner and CEO Bill Depietri said yesterday the panels were stolen by someone in the solar industry.

“It was someone who knew what they were doing” and perhaps needed enough panels to outfit a house or finish up a job, he said.

Depietri says he’ll be beefing up security on the site. You can read more in this article by the MWDN.
