Southborough police log (8/3/12 – 8/7/12): Coyotes making a racket

The biggest news from the latest batch of police logs is, without doubt, the spate of recent break-ins, but there were other incidents of note. Have a look.

Friday, August 3, 2012

  • 9:05 am – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 9:30 am – A medical was reported at a Boston Road residence.
  • 9:40 am – A motorist reported rocks in the roadway on Turnpike Road. The responding officer was able to remove the road debris.
  • 10:01 am – A child safety seat was installed for a resident at the station.
  • 10:46 am – Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident involving a truck on Willow Street. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 2:31 pm – Officers investigated a burglary that occurred at a Middle Road residence. Entry was gained by force, and no one was in the home at the time of the break-in. The detective unit is now investigating the incident.
  • 2:37 pm – A medical was reported at a Boston Road residence.
  • 2:55 pm – Officers assisted a disabled school bus at the Westborough town line on Southville Road.
  • 4:00 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Marlboro Road business.
  • 6:05 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Sears Road residence.
  • 6:10 pm – Officers responded to Oak Hill Road at Walnut Drive for a tree down and partially blocking the roadway. The DPW was contacted and advised to respond to the area.
  • 6:47 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.

Saturday, August 4, 2012

  • 12:31 am – Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on Flagg Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 2:55 am – Officers investigated a hit & run motor vehicle accident with property damage on Boston Road. The operator was arrested for OUI Alcohol in Marlborough by the Marlborough Police Department, and will face various charges (due to the accident) from the Southborough Police Department.
  • 3:08 am – A motorist travelling on Turnpike Road reported a suspicious female party walking along Route 9. The responding officer made contact with the female party, who advised the officer that she was looking for someplace to buy some food. The woman checked out o.k. and was sent on her way.
  • 9:02 am – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Cordaville Road and Main Street. Injuries were initially reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 12:52 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 2:06 pm – Marlborough Police reported to Southborough Police that they had received a call reporting a child in the roadway on Fisher Road. Responding officers reported no findings in the area.
  • 4:13 pm – A resident of Parkerville Road reported that their home had been burglarized sometime over the past two days. Responding officers checked the home with the homeowners, and the Detective Unit was called to the scene to investigate. If you have any information regarding this break-in, please contact Det.   • 4:26 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call at a Leonard Drive residence.
  • 7:28 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Sears Road residence.
  • 8:33 pm – Officers responded to a Framingham Road residence to assist a parent with a two year old child locked inside a motor vehicle. OnStar was eventually able to unlock the motor vehicle, and the child was taken out of the vehicle unharmed.
  • 9:17 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Hickory Road residence.
  • 9:49 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Meeting House Lane residence.
  • 10:44 pm – A medical was reported at a Mt. Vickery Road residence.

Sunday, August 5, 2012

  • 2:07 am – ARRESTED: A Framingham man was arrested and charged with OUI Alcohol and Speeding.
  • 11:03 am – Officers conducted a requested well-being check on a resident of Mitchell Street.
  • 1:54 pm – A medical was reported at a Valley Road residence.
  • 2:28 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Crystal Pond Road business.
  • 4:20 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 4:35 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Barn Lane residence.
  • 4:44 pm – Officers responded to Presidential Drive for a report of a tree down and blocking the roadway. The responding officer advised dispatch to contact the DPW because of the size of the tree.
  • 7:02 pm – Officers responded to Main Street for a report of a tree limb in the roadway. The responding officer was able to remove the limb.

Monday, August 6, 2012

  • 2:02 am – Officers responded to Eaton Apothecary for a break-in at the business. The front door was forced in and various items were taken from the business.   • 2:55 am – ARRESTED: A Hickory Road resident was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle while under the Influence of Drugs.
  • 12:45 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call at a Main Street business.
  • 12:58 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call at the same Main Street business.
  • 5:37 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at an Eastbrook Farm Lane residence.
  • 6:21 pm – Officers responded to a Main Street residence for a report of a burglary at the residence. The residents were not at home at the time of the break-in, and various items were reported taken from the residence.   • 6:31 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Cordaville Road.
  • 9:31 pm – Officers responded to the Turnpike Road area for a report of a white pick-up truck operating erratically in the area. The vehicle was later located in Westborough by the Westborough Police Department.
  • 10:14 pm – Officers responded to the Lovers Lane area for a report of a possible verbal argument going on in the area. The responding officer was able to determine that the noise was coming from coyotes in the area.
  • 11:13 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Wyndemere Drive residence.

  • 6:50 am – A medical was reported at a Flagg Road residence.
  • 12:55 pm – A medical was reported at a Marlboro Road residence.
  • 3:55 pm – A medical was reported at a Graystone Way residence.
  • 4:03 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call at St. Mark’s School.
  • 4:55 pm – Officers responded to Central Street for a report of a suspicious motor vehicle containing four juveniles in the area. The responding officer reported that the vehicle had left the area prior to his arrival.
  • 5:00 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 6:02 pm – A medical was reported at a Middle Road residence.
  • 6:04 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 6:33 pm – Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 6:43 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call at a Northboro Road business.
  • 9:03 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 9:30 pm – A Framingham resident was issued a Criminal Application for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked Registration.
  • 10:13 pm – Officers responded to a report of glass breaking behind a Main Street business. Responding officers reported that everything appeared to be in good order at the business, and that no one was in the area.
