Southborough Summer Nights is Saturday!

I don’t know about yours, but my family is getting very excited for Summer Nights on Saturday. The weather forecast looks just about perfect…unlike last year.

The fun starts at 5:00 pm at Neary Elementary School, and culminates in fireworks at dusk. Look for a post on the blog tomorrow with all the info you need, including a detailed schedule, where to park, and more.

In the meantime, if you need a little help getting psyched up, check out all the summertime fun in these Summer Nights galleries from past years.

Volunteers are still needed to help with clean up on Sunday morning. If you’d like to contribute, contact Recreation Director Doreen Ferguson at dferguson@southboroughma.com.

Susan,
Based on the rash of robberies lately, perhaps a few safety tips would be helpful for our residents. With so many Southborough citizens attending this event, homes and cars would be ripe for the picking. If you plan to be at Summer NIghts, don’t make it obvious that no one is home. Lock your doors, leave lights on, and a TV or radio. If you have neighbors that are not going, ask them to keep an eye on the neighborhood. Neighbors, don’t be shy about calling the police if you see anything suspicious. This was stressed at the recent police community meeting. Finally, while at the event, lock your car and don’t leave any valuables in sight.
