Southborough police logs (9/17/12 – 9/20/12): Falling trees block multiple roadways

Strong winds in the overnight hours last Wednesday kept the Southborough Police Department busy as they responded to multiple reports of trees down and blocking roadways. You can read more about it in the latest installment of the Southborough Police Department logs (via Facebook).

Monday, September 17, 2012

  • 0622 hrs – A Flagg Road resident notified police that a large tree was down and completely blocking Flagg Road. The DPW was notified and removed the tree from the roadway.
  • 0714 hrs – A motorist from Upton, MA. was issued a Criminal Application for Operating a Motor Vehicle After License Suspension and Failure to Inspect a Motor Vehicle.
  • 0905 hrs – Officers investigated a two-car motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. There were reports of injuries at the scene of the accident.
  • 1032 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Middle Road residence.
  • 1100 hrs – Officers investigated a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Parkerville Road. The vehicle left the area prior to the officers arriving on scene.
  • 1338 hrs – A motorist reported finding a bicycle on Main Street. The responding officer took custody of the bicycle at the scene.
  • 1543 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Main Street.
  • 1640 hrs – Officers attempted to serve court paperwork at a Watkins Lane residence.
  • 1700 hrs – Officers served court paperwork to an Oland Lane resident.
  • 1708 hrs – Officers responded to a medical on Turnpike Road.
  • 1716 hrs – Officers responded to a Framingham Road residence for a report of two suspicious males. The resident reported that the two males knocked on her door and then asked to use a metal detector on her property. After she declined, the males left the area. The responding officer checked the area, but was unable to locate the male parties.
  • 2035 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Sarsenstone Way residence.
  • 2123 hrs – Officers investigated a suspicious motor vehicle parked in the Finn School parking lot. The responding officer made contact with the owner of the vehicle, and everything checked out o.k.

  • 0540 hrs – A resident of Charles Court called to report that their garage door had just opened and closed. The responding officer checked the area, and there was no sign of criminal activity.
  • 0708 hrs – Officers responded to a three-car motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 0900 hrs – A resident of Watkins Lane reported that someone threw a glass bottle at their residence (broken glass). The responding officer was able to determine that a light-bulb had blown out and caused the broken glass.
  • 0924 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Cordaville Road residence.
  • 1245 hrs – Officers investigated a report of two suspicious males sitting in a motor vehicle on Middle Road. The responding officer spoke with the two males, and they both checked out o.k.
  • 1327 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm on Kennedy Lane.
  • 1337 hrs – An officer attempted to serve court paperwork on Glenwood Road.
  • 1407 hrs – Officers investigated a two-car motor vehicle accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1447 hrs – Officers responded to a Liberty Drive residence for a report of a Burglary at the home. Unknown suspects propped a ladder against the back of the home, and were able to gain access to a second story unsecured window. (more)
  • 1500 hrs – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from Fay School.
  • 1705 hrs – Officers responded to a medical at a Blueberry Lane residence.
  • 1737 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Boston Road.
  • 2028 hrs – Officers on patrol checked on a suspicious motor vehicle with two individuals inside. Both parties checked out o.k.
  • 2041 hrs – A Richards Road resident reported hearing suspicious noises outside of her home. The responding officer checked the area and determined that it was falling debris from the storm.

  • 0040 hrs – Officers responded to Woodland Road for a tree blocking the roadway.
  • 0045 hrs – Officers responded to John Street for a tree blocking the roadway.
  • 0051 hrs – A resident of Meadow Lane reported that a male party was looking in their window. Responding officers checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone in the area.
  • 0056 hrs – An officer responded to Breakneck Hill Road for a tree blocking the roadway.
  • 0356 hrs – Officers responded to a Crestview Drive residence for a report of a medical.
  • 0417 hrs – While on Crestview Drive, officers observed a tree down in the roadway. The DPW was notified.
  • 0418 hrs – A tree was reported down on Lovers Lane. The DPW was notified and responded to the area.
  • 0604 hrs – A tree was reported down and resting on the wires on High Ridge Road. National Grid was notified and responded to the area.
  • 0828 hrs – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Granuaile Road residence.
  • 0914 hrs – ARRESTED: A Marlborough woman was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Somerville District Court for failure to pay fines.
  • 1023 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Lovers Lane residence.
  • 1127 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Flagg Road residence.
  • 1333 hrs – Officers investigated a two-car motor vehicle accident on Flagg Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1422 hrs – Officers responded to Gilmore Road after a resident reported a suspicious person taking pictures of their home with a cell phone. The individual had left the area prior to the responding officer’s arrival.
  • 1544 hrs – A motorist from Fitchburg, MA. reported that a waste management truck struck low tree branches on Fisher Road, causing the branches to fall on and damage his vehicle. The responding officer took a report of the incident.
  • 1658 hrs – A motorist from Acton, MA. was issued a Criminal Application for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and a Stop Sign Violation.
  • 1710 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Framingham Road.
  • 1814 hrs – Officers investigated a three-car motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 2020 hrs – Officers investigated a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Moore Road. The operator was located and it was determined that they were lost.
  • 2052 hrs – Officers responded to Richards Road for a report of an erratic operator. The vehicle was located on Cordaville Road, and the operator checked out o.k.
  • 2245 hrs – A Marlboro Road resident reported being followed home by another motor vehicle. The resident confronted the other operator, who soon left the area after a brief exchange. The responding officer took a report of the incident and checked the area.

  • 0810 hrs – Officers responded to Edgewood Road for a report of a B & E to several motor vehicles in resident’s driveway. Some loose change and a skate board were reported missing from the vehicles. The responding officer took a report, and the incident has been forwarded to the Detective Unit.
  • 0818 hrs – Officers responded to an Oregon Road residence for another report of a B & E to a motor vehicle parked at the residence. It was determined that change was missing from the motor vehicle. (more)

  • 1235 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1358 hrs – Officers conducted a requested well-being check on a Mitchell Street resident.
  • 1428 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Flagg Road residence.
  • 1458 hrs – An officer responded to a Southville Road residence for a report of a medical.
  • 1550 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at an Oregon Road residence.
  • 1556 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1703 hrs – Officers investigated a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Parkerville Road. The vehicle was later located, and the individuals inside checked out o.k.
  • 1843 hrs – Officers investigated a report of a B & E to a motor vehicle at an Edgewood Road residence. The resident reported that nothing appeared to have been taken from the vehicle. A locked vehicle in the driveway was not disturbed. The responding officer took a report on the incident.
  • 1932 hrs – ARRESTED: A resident of High Street was arrested and charged with OUI Alcohol and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
  • 1941 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Newton Street business.
  • 2133 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Main Street business.
  • 2352 hrs – A medical was reported at a Blackthorn Drive residence.

  • 0449 hrs – A resident reported three suspicious vehicles parked at a construction site on Newton Street. The responding officer reported back that the individuals were workers at the job site.
  • 0730 hrs – A motorist reported a suspicious red truck parked on the side of Woodland Road. The responding officer reported back that the truck and the individuals inside checked out o.k.
  • 1108 hrs – Officers investigated a two-car motor vehicle accident on Cordaville Road. Injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 1123 hrs – An officer on patrol checked on a suspicious motor vehicle parked on Cordaville Road. The vehicle and the occupant checked out o.k.
  • 1242 hrs – Officers investigated a report of two suspicious males walking on Hubley Lane. Both individuals were located and checked out o.k.
  • 1403 hrs – Officers investigated a suspicious motor vehicle parked on Oregon Road. The vehicle checked out o.k.
  • 1408 hrs – Officers investigated a suspicious motor vehicle parked on Constitution Drive. The vehicle checked out o.k.
  • 1525 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1716 hrs – A resident of Wentworth Drive came into the station to report a possible theft from their property. The responding officer took a report of the incident, and a follow-up investigation is being conducted.
  • 1750 hrs – Officers investigated a one-car motor vehicle accident on Woodland Road. No injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 2057 hrs – Officers investigated a report of a suspicious male sitting in a parked motor vehicle on Cordaville Road. The individual was located and checked out o.k.
  • 2133 hrs – Officers investigated a report of an attempted fraud at a Highland Street residence. The responding officer took a report of the incident.
