A note about the future of My Southborough (it’s good news!)

Earlier this year I announced my intention to retire from my post at My Southborough after 4-1/2 years. At that point the future of the site was unclear, but today it gives me great pleasure to announce I have found someone (an excellent someone) to take over the blog.

Please join me in welcoming Beth Melo as the new voice behind My Southborough.

You may recognize Beth as the author of the semi-regular children’s book blog series that appears here on My Southborough. A mother of two, Beth lived in Southborough as a youngster before her family moved out of state. They returned as Beth was starting 7th grade, and she says she has considered Southborough her hometown ever since.

Currently a stay-at-home mom, Beth has a background in marketing and project management. For the past year she has been the president of the Friends of the Southborough Library.

Beth will transition into her role as chief blogger over the coming weeks. Look for her first post on the blog later today.

I’m excited to see Beth carry My Southborough into the future, and I invite you join me in offering her the same support and encouragement you have offered me over the years. Welcome, Beth!

This is such great news! Thank you for all you have done, Susan, and thank you, Beth for taking on the role of being the information source for Southborough. I am so happy MySouthborough.com is going to continue. This site is my go-to site for what is happening in the town and the schools.

A well earned break, Susan, and WELCOME, Beth!

I look forward to many great years of valuable reading to come – and hope to use the site less and less to track power outages during severe weather.

Thank you both!

Awesome choice! Great to have a local girl take over as Susan’s love of her hometown certainly showed in her work. Susan thank you and we will miss you on this blog. Beth, so glad you are taking over. It is an understatement to say Mysouthborough is the voice of what is happening in Southborough and we would be lost without it. Best wishes to both of you ladies!

That’s such great news! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the blog over the years and am so glad it’s not going to just fade away.

Thank you so much for all you’ve done, Susan, and welcome, Beth. It’s local blogs like this that restore the sense of community in what used to be a small town.
