Southborough to hold annual Veterans Day observance: Monday, November 11

Southborough residents are invited to honor our country’s veterans at a Veterans Day observance on Monday, November 11.

Veterans are asked to meet at the American Legion/VFW Headquarters at the Community House by 10:15 am. They will be joined by town Scout groups, Algonquin students and representatives from the State House and Board of Selectmen.

A procession to the memorial will begin at 10:45 am to the All Wars Memorial on the common across from the library.

At 11:00 am, Veterans will hold a ceremony including readings and patriotic music, and is expected to last 30 to 40 minutes.

“We’d like to see as may there as possible in tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice,” VFW Post 3276 Commander Steve Whynot wrote in an email.

I would like to welcome any Veteran – whether they belong to the VFW or Legion – to join us Monday at 1015 at the Legion/VFW HQ at the Community House.

Please join Legion Commander John Wilson and myself – in honoring all Veterans and ensuring that we never forget those who gave their lives for this country.

Uniform is not necessary – your presence is most welcomed.
