Obituary: Robert B. Nadeau, 88

Robert B. Nadeau, 88, of Southborough, formerly of Framingham, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014.

Born in Webster, son of Elzear III and Alice (Genest) Nadeau, he was the husband of sixty years of Margaret (Spratt) Nadeau. He served honorably in the US Navy Air Corps from 1943-45 and graduated from Holy Cross in 1949. Robert was a Special Agent in the FBI for 28 years, assigned in Chicago, New York and Boston. Following his retirement from the FBI, he was founder and president of Professional Investigative Consultants for 18 years as a Licensed Private Investigator.

He served as past president of Framingham Youth Hockey and was an active parishioner of St. Bridget’s Church. He loved God, family and his country, and especially enjoyed family backyard cook-outs.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Nancy Anderson of Lexington, Thomas and his wife, Marla, of Truro, Janice of Boylston, Teresa and her husband Ron LaCoss of Hollis, NH and Stephen and his wife Anne of Wellesley; ten grandchildren: Eric Hoffses and his wife Jackelyn, Brian Hoffses and his fiancée Katie Woods, Shane and Kira LaCoss, Scott and Tierney Nadeau, Kevin Anderson, Kaitlyn, Matthew and Ryan Nadeau and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Tess Hoffses; his sister, Blanche Fiddes, of Florida. He was father of the late James Nadeau and brother of the late Richard Nadeau.

Friends and family will honor and remember his life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, March 21st from 5 to 8 pm at Eugene J. McCarthy & Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 22nd at 10 am in St. Bridget’s Church, 830 Worcester Road (Rte 9E), Framingham. Burial will follow at the St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Framingham.
