Events this week (8/12-8/17/14): Matinee, art reception, science concert

Above: The Senior Center will be screening the popular movie Frozen for town seniors and “the little people” in their life.

Tuesday, August 12, 2014:

  • Drop-In Craft Days (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Stop by the Children’s Room between 10:00 am to 5:00 p.m. and make a craft project! Parents/Caregivers need to stay with the children.
  • Wandering Book Group (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Join them for a discussion of The Book Thief that will be hosted on our library’s 1st Floor.

Wednesday, August 13, 2014:

  • Free Matinee – Disney Frozen (12:00 – 1:40 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: The most recent Disney princess movie was a hit with all ages and genders thanks to a fantastic soundtrack, and adorable snowman. (Rated PG – 1 hr 40 minutes). Seniors are encouraged to “bring all the little people in your life”. Room will be open at 11:30 for anyone who wants to bring their lunch.

Thursday, August 14, 2014:

  • Legos at the Library (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Public Library: Children are welcome to come build with Legos, and display their creations in the Children’s Room. Legos will be provided, but all materials need to remain at the library. Parents or caregivers must stay with children during this event.
  • Artist Reception (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Eaton Meeting Room, Southborough Library: Please join us for a reception featuring oil painter Rob Franco, the artist featured in the Eaton Meeting Room since early July. Rob will discuss his work Reflections and his inspiration: the Assateague Island Wild Ponies. 

Friday, August 15, 2014:

  • Science is Magic” Concert (11:00 am) @ Southborough Library: We are wrapping up the Summer Reading with singer Rick Goldin and his “Science is Magic” Concert! come sing with us!
  • Olympus – free children’s play (1:00 pm) @ Westborough High School: SkyRise Children’s Theater. Musical Parody of Classic Mythology Stories.
  • Once Upon A Mattress (7:30 pm) @ Hopedale High School, 25 Adin St., Hopedale: Hopkinton Center for the Arts’ Enter Stage Left Theater’s annual summer stock production featuring high school & college student actors. $20 Adults/$15 Seniors/Students. Click here for details.
