Southborough has always had an impressive showing at the Boston Marathon, and this year is no exception.

On Monday, April 20, nineteen Southborough residents will don a bib a run to run. Many will be raising funds for important causes in the process.

Every runner has a story, and from now until marathon day, I’ll feature as many as I can.

Today’s feature focuses on Christo Baltas who is running to raise funds for Tufts Medical Center. Funds will support their mission to “heal, to comfort, to teach, to learn and to seek the knowledge to promote health and prevent disease.”

Baltos explains his personal connection to the cause:

Having spent most of 2014 at Tufts Medical Center with my mom, who was diagnosed with breast cancer, I knew I had to do something to give back to this amazing hospital. Through several surgeries, countless appointments and months of radiation, I can tell you that each and every health care professional was knowledgeable, compassionate, and focused on the patient as well as their families. Lets support these worthy professionals and this world class medical center together!!!
