Before posting the schdule, its time for an update on Algonquin varsity achievements.

ARHS Wrestling made some history on Saturday. The Telegram & Gazette wrote:

Algonquin reaped redemption at the Division 2 Central sectionals tournament at Ashland High on Saturday afternoon, as four different wrestlers won their weight class and helped the Tomahawks claim their first sectionals championship in school history with a team score of 214.5. . .

Seven members of the Tomahawks clinched a trip to next weekend’s Division 2 state championship in Marshfield with top three finishes, while Nate Porteus was named an alternate after finishing fourth in the 160-pound weight class. (read more)

ARHS Swimming, and Indoor Track are also competed in division sectionals over the weekend. While none of the teams had outstanding rankings, some athletes qualified to compete in the state championships this coming weekend.

The Boys Indoor Track team ranked #9 in their division, with a first place win in the 4×800 meter relay and 3rd place by Max Michaud in the 1000 meter run. The Girls team didn’t earn a team ranking.

ARHS Girls Swimming only ranked #18 in their division and the Boys #20. According to the Algonquin Harbinger, this is the first season for the formerly co-ed swimming program. And its been especially tough on the boys. You can read about that here.

Ice Hockey brackets are yet to be posted. But ARHS Boys already had proud news to tweet. The following players made the All Star team: Mike Tascione, Alex Dipuada, Joe Sullivan, Justin O’Connell, John Paterson, Dennis Achkinazi, and Nathan Anderson.

Now, here are the ARHS varsity games on tap for the week.
