This week in sports: Coach earns national honor

The most buzzed about Algonquin sport this week was one that wrapped up more than a season ago.

T-Hawks football was again in the limelight. This time it was for honors off the field.

Coach Justin McKay was recognized with a national award for his work with the team. The prestigious award focuses on the meaningful impact of the coach on his players. And the nomination came from the players themselves.

The Community Advocate shared the story, including touching details of McKay’s support of a sidelined senior. You can read that here.
