Outdoor Track has been having a stellar spring. (Though, it’s hard to keep tabs on their record, since media coverage of meets and events is spotty.)
ARHS Athletics boasts that the Boys came in first at their Mid Wach league championships on Saturday. Girls came in second at theirs.
Boys came in second at the Central Mass district championships a week earlier. But it was the girls who came away with special bragging rights from the districts.
As the Telegram reports:
Several records were broken Saturday, but arguably the most notable one came from Algonquin Regional’s Caroline Leonard, who broke a javelin record that stood for 40 years. The Assumption-bound Leonard threw it 142-3, erasing the previous mark of 129-5 by Auburn’s Pattie Jacques in 1976. (Click here to read more)
