Playoff brackets are yet to be posted for Central MA Division 2 Football. But based on media reports, it seems that Gonk Football, now second in its league, is likely headed to the playoffs.
On Friday, the Northborough Wicked Local posted about the T-Hawks vs Mountaineers game delayed by Friday’s rains. T-Hawks were the 5th ranked team. They were the underdogs in last night’s competition against the undefeated Wachusetts Mountaineers. But they had a lot to fight for:
looming on Sunday is a playoff berth. With a win, Algonquin will clinch a spot in the Division 2 Central Mass. playoffs.
“We control our own destiny,” said [ARHS Coach Justin] McKay. “We can’t think of anything thing else or help from anyone else.”
Their work this season paid off. T-Hawks triumphed 21-6. Click here to read Southborough Wicked Local’s recap of the night.
As successful as T-Hawks Football is this season – the school has other varsity teams ranked as high or higher in in the league for their sports.
This fall, T-Hawks are Golf and Girls Soccer are ranked first in league. Today is the Division 1 Tournament for Golf. (Let’s hope the gusting winds haven’t wreaked too much havoc for the team.)
Ranking second in Midland B league are Girls Volleyball, Girls Field Hockey, and Boys Soccer.
