Car flipped on Boston Road Monday evening

As many of you know (especially if you were stuck in the resulting traffic) there was a serious accident on Route 30 in Southborough during rush hour on Monday evening.

I followed up with Police Chief Kenneth Paulhus who confirmed last night that no Southborough residents were involved. The accident involved a two car collision on Boston Road, east of the causeway. It resulted in one car being flipped.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance to UMass Medical in Worcester. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries.

A medflight was initially called in but canceled. Southborough Wicked Local reported that Fire Chief Joe Mauro said it was unavailable. The statement from Chief Paulhus last night clarified that emergency personnel on site also determined the life flight wasn’t necessary after further evaluation.

Southborough police are investigating the accident. Chief Paulhus indicated that one driver would be cited for leaving the lane of travel and other violations.
