Supporting the Southborough Library

The Library’s Board of Trustees asked me to share their request to support the Southborough Library Fund. Plus, Library staff asked me to share news of a grant they received from the Southborough Community Fund.

As long as I’m sharing those stories, as President of the Friends of the Southborough Library, I feel compelled to bring attention to that organization as well.

First up from the Southborough Library Board of Trustees:

Southborough Library Fund – Tax-Deductible and Just Plain Nice

Here’s your opportunity to support the library and make a tax-deductible donation before the year ends.

The Southborough Library Fund has launched a fundraising campaign to support the Southborough Library by raising private funds to supplement the library’s public funding.

The annual appropriation at Town Meeting provides day-to-day funding and The Friends of the Library offer additional support. Donations to the Southborough Library Fund are used for items outside the library’s municipal budget. The Fund has enabled the library to purchase new shelving for paperbacks and comfortable seating on the library’s main floor.

Your support through a tax-deductible donation helps sustain the library and benefit the community (which is just plain nice).

You may donate online: bit.do/sbh or with a check payable to: Southborough Library Fund, PO Box 141, Southborough, MA 01772

The Southborough Library Fund is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) fund under the umbrella of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.

Now, here’s the Library’s announcement of the children’s arts programs being funded by the Southborough Community Fund:

The Southborough Library is pleased to announce that a grant from the Southborough Community Fund, a fund of the Foundation for MetroWest, has been awarded for children’s programming. The funds are to be used to provide a series of art based workshops and programs for children between the ages of three and twelve.

Included in this series will be multiple classes from the Museum of Fine Arts, several workshops from Central Massachusetts bases Art to Gogh, one of which is a four week class for elementary school students, and drop-in art workshops run by Southborough’s Bigelow Center for the Arts.

The Southborough Library is very appreciative of being selected for this award and thanks the Southborough Community Fund for helping to make new opportunities available to children.

Southborough Community Fund, a fund of the Foundation for MetroWest, promotes a spirit of philanthropic giving to help enhance the quality of life for all Southborough residents now, and for the future. SCF is a grantmaking source of funding to support our community needs and opportunities, and provide ways for donors to give back to our community.
