My last comment for the month, I promise…. Perhaps we should perform continuous road stops of all traffic from Marlboro and Framingham on Boston Road. With the ever increasing speed, people disregarding laws, blowing through stop signs, excessive speeds, we could clean up on fines alone. We could do the same thing on any traffic passing on Route 9 and Pine Hill Road through Southborough. Seems to me a huge percent of operators are unlicensed, unregistered, drunk, high et.

Mike, I couldn’t agree with you more however, the people in this town would go ballistic about that. Not to mention, there just is not enough police staff for that. One incident in town and the full force is in one place. We would have to greatly increase out force in order for any of that to happen. Now, with that said, would the fines outweigh the cost of new hires? Maybe. But having a safer town to live in would be worth it in my opinion, but I am sure I am in the minority. Our current force does a great job, but I believe they are stretched to their limits at this point. Unless we are ready to pony up for more cops, we are out of luck.
