Obituary: Norman F. Strate, 76

Strate, Norman F. 76 years old of Southborough MA, formerly of Parkersburg WV passed away on May 23, 2017. His wife Ann L. (Latimer) Strate predeceased him in 2010. Norman’s life was one of service to others and his country. He is survived by his three daughters, Margaret Strate of Glendale, AZ, Mary Strate-Friesen of Montreal, Canada, and Amanda Csank of Shrewsbury, MA, and nine grandchildren.

Norman graduated from Lehigh University where he was still an active alumni. He received an LLB from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. Additionally, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He served on many charitable boards such as the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center in Boston, MA and Church Farm School in Exton, PA. He also graduated from the National Security Program at the War College, Carlisle Barracks. His professional life was full of multiple new business ventures and start ups. 

Services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 Main Street, Southborough, MA 01772 on June 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. with a reception following at the parish hall. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main Street, MARLBOROUGH, MA 01752.
