Seniors – learn to play pickle ball this week (free through Thursday)

Southborough residents aged 65+ are invited to come out and play pickle ball this week.

The free sessions are geared to beginners. They take place afternoons from 4:00 – 5:00 through this Thursday, June 22nd. (The fun started yesterday afternoon, but I just learned about it today.)

Although free – advance registration through Southborough Recreation is required. So, call ahead – 508-229-4452.

Below is the description:

Signup is requested through One of the fastest growing exercise social outlets for the active 65 and over. A sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Pickle Ball is a paddle sport for all athletic ability levels. You will learn rule scoring, court positioning, basic strategies. This program is recommended for nonracquet players new to the game and people who have played racquet sports in the past but want to learn the game of Pickle Ball.

Play is scheduled to take place at the Richardson Courts at Neary School.
