Registration is now open for the fall session of after school programs (and a before school one). I love it Recreation offers a wide range of choices – especially unusual ones. They certainly didn’t fail this fall.

This first session of RAP (Recreation After-school Programs) is a mix of fun active, creative, and educational classes. It even includes “Business Sharks” for Woodward students and social etiquette and public speaking for the older kids. That’s alongside classic activities like basketball, karate, dodgeball, soccer, painting, photography, pottery, chess, and STEM engineering fun.

Most classes will begin the week of September 11th, with Thursday classes pushed out an extra week (since September 14th is a half day).

Finn is again offering a before-school program – AM Fitness Fun. Gym teacher Tom McCabe will run the sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

[Note: Woodward will continue its free Wakeup and Workout sessions starting September 12th.]*

Registration for most RAP programs is currently listed as due by September 8th. (That is sometimes extended – especially for the programs starting later. But programs can also fill up in advance – or get cancelled if not enough register by that date. So, I recommend signing up sooner.)

This is also the time to sign kids up for Neary’s drama program. (That runs from the end of September to early February.) This year, kids will perform in Willy Wonka, Jr.

The program’s “preview day” is Wednesday September 13th 2:30-3:30. That’s when kids learn more about the play and are shown routines to practice for the auditions. (Auditions are to help the producers make casting decisions. Every child signed up will get a part.)

For more details on the play, check out the flyer. (Unlike the other RAP classes, you have until September 22nd to sign up for this one.)

Last week, I posted information on Trottier’s Cross Country program. As of this afternoon, there are still several slots open.
