Seniors invited to bike the Cape Canal – April 26

Above: The vista will likely be a bit less green this month, but the Cape Cod Canal Bike Path should still provide a nice view and smooth ride for senior cyclists. (images above and below from flickr by CorpsNewEngland)

The Southborough Senior Center is organizing a group bike ride for seniors this month. Not surprisingly, considering our narrow streets, it’s an out of town outing. In fact, far out of town.

Seniors will be carpooling to the Cape on Thursday, April 26th. Seniors are invited to:

Cape Cod Canal Bike Path (flickr by CorpsNewEngland)meet at the Senior Center at 9:00am and carpool to the Cape Cod Canal Bike Path. The bike path is a paved route that runs about 7-8 miles (oneway) between Bourne and Sagamore Bridges. Each biker/walker can ride a distance of their own ability. We will lunch at our own cost at a local restaurant. Each participant should bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, layers of clothing, sneakers, and bike helmet. Water and snacks will be provided. Please note if you have a bike rack to transport bikes.

It’s another program organized by Trailblazer volunteers. Pre-registration is required. To sign up, please call 508-229-4453.
