Director of Children’s Ministries (part time)

Pilgrim Congregational Church in Southborough, MA is looking to fill the role of Director of Children’s Ministries. This is a part-time position responsible for overall leadership in educational programming, including guidance and resources for all aspects of the Sunday School in accordance with the goals, objectives and policies established by the Christian Education Committee. The Director of Children’s Ministries will lead the Daycare and Sunday School program for grades pre-school through eight and nurture the faith journeys of our youth.

The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who can:

      • Develop, coordinate and execute a robust Sunday School curriculum that engages and teaches the youth of Pilgrim Congregational Church
      • Relate well with youth of all ages, parents, and church leaders,
      • Value teamwork with volunteer teachers and all church teams, and
      • Recognize and support the individual needs of the different personalities of our specific youth and find ways to connect, involve and empower them

This position will be 12 months in length and will require a commitment of 15-20 hours per week (including a minimum of 3-4 hours on-site Sundays).

Town of Southborough

Conservation Agent (full time)

[Editor’s Note: The posting specifies, “Qualifications received online. . . by June 4, 2018 will receive preference.” Since that isn’t a definitive deadline, I decided it was still worth sharing.]

The Town of Southborough seeks applicants for a Full-Time Conservation Agent, reporting to the Conservation Commission. Provides professional supervision for the work and projects under the SCC’s jurisdiction and control. Advises and guides residents and applicants through the SCC application process [including complaint investigation] and regulatory procedures. Employee has considerable independence and responsibility, including administration and enforcement, as well as providing technical assistance, in connection with local, state and federal wetlands, stormwater and erosion control regulations, and other natural resource protection including conservation laws, regulations, practices and policies of the SCC.

Tasks include performing a variety of administrative duties supporting the Commission, including managing Commission office, attending night meetings, site visits and managing permit compliance.

Must have B.A. degree in related field or 5 years of relevant experience; expertise in MS Office and GIS programs. Minimal physical effort required although site visits will require ability to drive and walk about construction sites and conservation areas. Notary Public preferred. Salary range is mid 60’s.
