Tuesday, July 24, 2018

  • Legos at the Library (10:30 am – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Public Library: Children are welcome to come build with Legos, and display their creations in the Children’s Room. Legos will be provided, but all materials need to remain at the library. Parents or caregivers must stay with children during this event.
  • Senior Issue Liaison for US Congress Rep (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Join Jay Higgins, Senior Issue Liaison for Congresswoman Katherine Clark, to discuss senior benefits or policy matters for one hour each month 11:00am to 12:00pm on the following Tuesdays; May 29th, June 19th and July 24th at the Senior Center. If you have any questions or concerns, please come and address them with Mr. Higgins.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Level: At each Tuesday session, everyone is asked to bring in five copies of their original poetry and distribute them to the group. Someone will read the poem and the group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway! We are always interested in your insights. The group is meeting every 2-3 weeks.

Wednesday, July 25, 2018 

  • Algonquin Cross Country Summer Series (6:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School athletic fields: This session features a Predicted Time 5k Race. For more details, see dedicated post.
  • Fay School’s Sunset Playdates (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Fay’s Primary School playground: Join us this summer for a fun family night out on our playground! Enjoy free live music by local children’s musician Jeannie Mack and an after-dinner popsicle! Pre-registration is required. For more details, see dedicated post.
  • Pajama Storytime (7:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Bring a blanket and listen to stories outside on the lawn – weather permitting. (In the case of inclement weather, story time will be held in the Children’s Room).

Thursday, July 26, 2018 

  • Animal World Experience (3:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Animal World Experience returns to the library with all kinds of amazing animals! Children can learn about the animals and be able to touch some of them! For more details, see dedicated post.
  • Southborough Summer Concert Series (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Neary School grounds: This week’s free family friendly concert features the band Throwback to the 60’s. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. You can find series information in dedicated post. (Stay tuned for a post dedicated to this concert.)
  • Audio Book Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: This new group is aimed at adult readers who enjoy both reading – and listening – to books of Science Fiction / Fantasy genre. For more details, see dedicated post.

  • Native Plant Garden Tour (11:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ beginning and ending at the Southborough Senior Center (9 Cordaville Rd): See how you can have a beautiful garden using Native Plants while greatly benefiting our Native Bees and Butterflies. We will first look at the new Native Plant Pollinator Garden at the Senior Center and then head out to see 3 additional local Native Plant Gardens. For more details, see dedicated post.
