Here are highlights of what’s happening around town this weekend

Saturday, March 2, 2019

  • NSPAC: Reading Goals Workshop (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Northborough Library, 34 Main St: NSPAC is co-hosting a workshop on “Reading Goals Workshop: A Clear and Structured Process for Reading Goals” for parents concerned about literacy and education for students with dyslexia. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Hop into Spring Savings (1:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Southborough Recreation Department, 21 Highland Street: Annual event to promote signing up for Southborough Recreation’s spring and summer programs. Entertainment for kids (face-painters and balloon twisting by Clowning Around), plus complimentary refreshments. Enter a free raffle for one week of Summer Camp. Limited number of reduced rate vouchers will be for sale (one per family) to be used towards Town recreation programs (including RAP or Summer Camp). For details, see dedicated post.
  • Maybe – Light Up Sledding (4:30 – 8:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm, Chestnut Hill Road: This “weekly” event is dependent on having enough snow on the hill that night. It hasn’t happened yet this year, and it’s still dicey for this weekend. Highs are above freezing this afternoon, but more snow is predicted to fall before tomorrow night. So, it looks like you’ll need to check their Facebook page on Saturday for the latest status.
  • ARHS Winter Play – “Proof” (7:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, Black Box Theater: Algonquin students will perform the Pulitzer Prize winning play. Tickets go on sale for the general public at the Box Office each night at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. For details, see dedicated post.

Sunday, March 3, 2019

  • Boy Scout’s Pancake Breakfast (8:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ Neary School cafeteria: Troop 1 Boy Scouts 50th annual fundraiser. The menu also includes sausage, ham, and beverages. Tickets cost $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and kids 6-12, and children 5 and under eat for free. You can get your tickets from a Troop 1 Boy Scout or buy them at the door. For details, see dedicated post.
