Algonquin Gymnastics had another good week. The Girls beat Westborough last Monday and Shrewsbury on Saturday. You can check out Jeff Slovin’s pics from the meet through the tweet below.

The Girls Algonquin Girls Ice Hockey scored one win and one loss last week. The telegram covered their hopes and potential for this season.

After a steady build over the past two seasons, the Algonquin/Hudson girls’ hockey team looks poised to break through in a big way this season. Tomahawks coach Mike Hodge said his team has gained valuable experience over the past two seasons which should be a big advantage for his team this season. (read more)

Boys Ice Hockey’s hope of holding on the the Daily News Cup were dashed by Hopkinton last week in the finals. You can read about that in Wicked Local. 

Other sports news last week looked back at ARHS fall sports.

The media covered the departure of T-Hawks Football coach Taylor Allen. Apparently, Allen is relocating to Ohio where his family already moved for his wife’s job. You can read the Telegram’s coverage here.

On a happier note, T&G listed its fall All Stars, which included the following T-Hawks:

Boys Soccer – Brendan McCarthy, Junior, Goalkeeper
Girls Soccer – Taylor Moore, Senior, Striker/Forward  and Lucy Gauvin, Senior, Outside Forward 
Field Hockey – Day Ruffo, Junior, Forward
Girls Volleyball – Chloe Chiota, Senior, Right Side Hitter
Boys Cross Country – Nicholas West, Senior and William Lamburn, Junior

T&G also shared the Mid-Wach League coaches’ Cross Country All Star Choices. For Boys, it included Nick West plus Cole Gamache, Nick Lamburn, Charlie McLarnon, and Quinn Potter. For Girls, it included Shannon Judge, Julia Kardos, Kathryn McCarthy, Karmyn Shreeve.

For Boys Soccer, the school tweeted a congrats for three Boys All Stars

Looking back at the “Photos of the Year” in 2019 high school sports, the Telegram included a T-Hawks Field Hockey victory, and a successful tag out by a Gonk Baseball player last spring. You can check those out here.
