Town shares invitation urging attendees of recent large gatherings: Get tested for free

The Town issued an announcement with information from the state. This Wednesday and Thursday, free testing is available for Covid-19. The invitation is for people (even those with no symptoms) who have been in large crowds over the last two weeks.

Testing for attendees of large gatherings
Get Tested for COVID-19: June 17th and 18th

The Commonwealth is urging anyone who has attended a large gathering in the past two weeks to get tested for COVID-19. This testing will be provided at no cost to you.

While the Town’s announcement shares the state’s wording, the mass.gov page adds:

COVID-19 can spread easily and quickly in large groups of people who are in close contact. Some people do not have symptoms but may have the virus and could spread the virus to others. If you participated in a large gathering, you should get tested.

The site promises that results are private:

Test results

  • Will be provided to each participant confidentially.
  • Participants are encouraged to share these results with their doctors.

The 50 locations are listed for the free testing. Some are by appointment only, while others allow drop-ins. The closest one to Southborough is in Shrewsbury at the CVS at 720 Boston Turnpike Road. (That requires an appointment between 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.) There are also three locations in Worcester, including a drive-through or walk-in at UMass Memorial University Campus from 8:30 am – 7:00 pm.
