The Southborough Senior Center asked me to share an announcement. Baypath Elder Services is seeking people to be trained as Nursing Home Advocates. (Also know as “Ombudsman”.)

Here is their call for volunteers:

BayPath Elder Services, Inc. is seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering a couple of hours a week to make a difference for residents of Long Term Care (LTC) facilities.

The goal of the Ombudsman Program is to work with residents, families and LTC staff to improve the quality of care, life and environment for the residents of these facilities.
Trainings to become a certified Ombudsman are held virtually and visits can be virtual or in person depending upon one’s comfort level. It is important that candidates are comfortable with use of technology, such as Zoom and Face-Time apps.

Contact Mary Brooks, Ombudsman Program Director at 508-573-7235 or email mbrooks@baypath.org to arrange an interview and learn more about this opportunity.

You can find more information on the program here.
