Northboro-Southboro Girls Softball: Any interest in playing this summer?

Above: Girls from Northborough and Southborough have been enjoying softball this spring. Now organizers want to know how many would join a “relaxed” program this summer. (images cropped from Facebook)

The girls youth softball team is looking for feedback from our community. They are looking to learn how many Southborough and Northborough families would be interested in a summer program.

The head of Northboro-Southboro Girls Softball team asked me to share info from their Facebook post. It stresses that it wouldn’t commit families to being available each week, and weekends would be left free:

In the past we have not had enough players to run a summer program. If there is enough interest and we have coaches I would be happy to get a program going. It would be very relaxed. Games would only be during the week, not the weekend. If you miss a week, no big deal.

My goal is to keep the girls playing and be ready for the Fall season. (Fall registration will open in July).

Lisa Hodge created a google doc to collect interest. You can click here to respond.

For those who are currently enrolled in the spring program, they would play in the same age group they are currently in. Below are the age breakdowns and the hopeful plans for play/competition:

6u – K & 1st grade (would play Northboro-Southboro, most likely a combined practice and game once a week)

8u – 2nd & 3rd grades (whether this age would only play Northboro-Southborough teams or other towns depends on the numbers)

Older players (would likely play in the Twin Valley League against other towns, 2 games per week – no weekends)

10u – 4th & 5th grades

12u – 6th-8th grades
