Obituary: Barbara D. (Marsh) Delarda, 93

Barbara D. (Marsh) Delarda, 93, of Southborough passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Marlborough Hospital after a short illness.

She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Delarda for over 72 years and the daughter of the late Ralph Marsh and Dorothy (Fay) Marsh .

Barbara worked at Deerfoot Farms as the spice girl, where she met her husband, Bob, and made many life long friends. After she was married and had children Barbara was a home maker. She learned to cook from her mother in law, the proper Italian way and became very good at it. Barbara and Bob held all the family holiday parties and gatherings, where she and her daughters would cook together. When Barbara was younger her Aunt Hazel would bring her to Lake Winnipesaukee and she continued to enjoy it there through out her life. Every Saturday night she and Bob would go out to dinner, and she would dress up as if it were one of their first dates. Her greatest joy was being with her family and close friends. Barbara was also a long time member of St Anne Church of Southborough. 

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters, Diane Levay and her husband Larry of Marlborough; Susan Wood and her husband John of Southborough; 4 grandchildren, Nicole and Stephanie Levay; Robert R.J. and Michael Wood; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Ralph and John Marsh.

There will be a visiting hour from 9 to 10 am on Friday, July 23 at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St, Southborough.

A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am at St Anne Church, 20 Boston Road, Southborough. Burial will be in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.

72 years of marriage for one of the NICEST couples I have ever met – always so warm and welcoming. My heart goes out to Bob and the family.
