Food Pantry in need – please donate

The Southborough Food Pantry asked me to make readers aware of their need for donations. Obviously, inflation especially hurts those who have the least to spend on food. It has also likely impacted some of those who regularly donate, since donations have declined.

They are seeking donations specifically listed on their current needs list – or financial support to allow them to do the appropriate shopping.

I looked at the needs list and saw noted that no bulk items can be donated due to space constraints. I reached out for clarity. As long as the need is on their updated list, it’s fine to donate multipacks of regular sized items (like a case of cans). Just please don’t donate large or commercial sized cans, jugs and bags.

Below are the details they shared on how you can donate, or seek help if you need donations yourself:

The Southborough Food Pantry was founded in 1991 by the United Parishes of Southborough. It has been located at Pilgrim Church since its inception. We are accessed from the back of the Church at a Handicapped Ramp.

The Pantry regularly serves 59 families with 133 members. Clients may come once a week. We are open Thursday night from 6-7 PM and Friday from 9-10 AM. We provide delivery service for those who are not physically able to come to the Pantry.

If you are in need of help, please call us at the Pilgrim Church number: 508-485-4847. Leave a message with your need, name and phone number after the Food Pantry Prompt and someone will return your call.

Donations of non-perishable food, gift cards and cash are always needed. Checks and Gift Cards could be sent to Southborough Food Pantry
