St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is inviting parents to take little kids to a monthly religious service without worries about them acting like kids. The first service will take place this weekend.

Their first “Messy Church” will be held on Sunday, April 30th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. The event includes a Bible Story, activies and a free dinner.

Parents are expected to remain with their children through the service. Here is the church’s invitation:

Join Us for a Church Gathering Geared Toward Kids

Sometimes church on Sunday morning can be tough. There are often activities for families to engage in. Or maybe it’s the only day you have to sleep in. Or sometimes you worry your kids will act like kids and disrupt other worshippers.

That’s why we’re offering Messy Church!

Started in the UK over a decade ago, Messy Church offers a once a month worship experience for busy families of younger kids. With a Bible story theme for the day; activities, games, and crafts based on that story; a communion service geared toward kids; and a shared meal. In other words, it’s perfect for busy families wanting to engage with their faith.

To help them plan ahead, please register in advance here.
