Monday, June 26, 2023

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.

Tuesday, June 27, 2023

  • Teen Self Empowerment Workshop (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Teens kick off our Summer Reading theme of Find Your Voice with a workshop that combines movement and breath work with journaling and conversation! For details, see dedicated post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Storyteller Diane Edgecomb (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library (lawn or main floor): Musical stories will encourage children to dance and sing. All ages welcome and no registration is required. Please bring a blanket or chair. (Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library and Fay School.) . For details, see dedicated post.
  • Select Board Hours (5:30 – 6:30 pm) @ Town House Hearing Room, 17 Common St: Residents are invited to drop in to informally speak with two Board members about any questions, concerns or interests. This session will be hosted by members Kathy Cook and Al Hamilton.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

Wednesday, June 28, 2023

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Outdoor Story Time (4:00 – 4:45 pm) @ Southborough Library lawn: Join Miss Kim for stories and fun! Please bring a blanket or chair. This weekly event is for all ages and no registration is required. (In case of inclement weather, it will be held in the Children’s Room.)
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

Thursday, June 29, 2023

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Kids’ 4th of July Parade (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library, meet in the Children’s Room: Children and their families are invited to don patriotic accessories and noisemakers for the annual parade to the Town House and back. All ages welcome and no registration is required.. For details, see related post.
  • Tips for Successful & Safe Grilling! (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Floor: Learn tips and tricks for making summer grilling both delicious and safe! Southborough’s Food Inspector and Health Director  will give a short presentation, followed by Q&A. Participants will receive a food safety gift bag while supplies last. For ages 12+.
  • Family Farm Yoga: Celebrating the Summer Solstice (6:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: A Mindful Yoga Adventure for kids ages 4-8 accompanied by a parent. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see related post.

  • Kids Jam (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Lawn: Kids are invited to dance and sing along to a variety of traditional and popular children’s songs Best for newborns through preschool age. No registration necessary. This event will be held on the library lawn. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library.
  • Canasta (11:15 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.

  • Hike with Goats (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Your reservation gets you and your group of family or friends an hour-long experience with a friendly goat on its own harness and leash. You will first learn how to walk with the goat, and then you’ll be accompanied by a farm staff member as you and your new goat friend make your way around the farm and its trails.
