Winter Gear Drive

NSBORO schools are collecting new/gently used winter coats and outerwear for all ages.

Above: Have some gently used winter coats and outerwear to donate (or feeling generous enough to buy new)? Donate them to NHHA through NSBORO schools. (images cropped from flyer)

The Northborough and Southborough Public Schools are helping a local non-profit collect winter coats, snow pants, snow boots, and warm hats, mittens, and gloves. Gently used items are accepted (as long as they are clean).

Collection bins will be in the lobbies of all Southborough K-8 schools and Algonquin Regional High School (as well as other schools and locations in Northborough). Please, do not confuse this collection with the large textile bins in school parking lots.*

NHH Winter Gear Drive flyerThe winter gear is being collected for Northborough Helping Hands Association, Inc. (a 501c3).

Organizers are seeking items in all sizes, infants through adults. I’m told that toddler sizes are especially needed. Some of the families who will be receiving items have never experienced a New England winter.

The donation deadline is October 16th.

The plan is to get items into the hands of families that need them sometime in October. (Given the unpredictability of cold fronts and winter storms in the fall, that’s understandable.)

*Although if you have other used clothing to donate that doesn’t fit in the above categories, the SOS, and Algonquin/Northborough PTOs would appreciate your supporting their year round fundraiser by dropping textiles in their collection bins. Click here for those details.
