Scouting for Food

After a hiatus, the town wide collection for the Food Pantry is back.

Kids in town will be approaching your doors this weekend. But their only costumes will be scout uniforms and they won’t be ringing your bell.

Instead, they’ll be hanging bags on doorknobs with flyers asking the community to donate to Scouting for Food.

The big annual food drive is back for the first time since 2019. It will be taking place on Veteran’s Day.

Scout families looking to volunteer should head to Pilgrim Church to pick up bags with flyers this Friday night (6:00 – 8:00 pm) or Saturday morning (8:00 – 10:00 am). Bags should be hung on doorknobs (not on or in mailboxes) during the day (not after dark).

Scouting for Food donationsDonations should be left outside on your doorstep or driveway in the marked bags on Saturday the 11th at 9:00 am.

Scout families should drop off/bring in their collected goods to Pilgrim Church between 12:00 – 2:00 pm. (Sorting will begin later than usual to allow Scouts and volunteers to attend the annual Veteran’s Day ceremony that begins at 11:00 am at the All Wars Memorial.)
