The Town is promoting a new opening for a full time Business Admin, and working to recruit a replacement for the outgoing Fire Chief, and a firefighter/paramedic.

  • SYFS Business Admin Wanted adSouthborough Youth & Family Services – Business Administrator (full-time)
     
    Duties include: providing high level administrative support, assisting with scheduling tasks, marketing of events, program registration, fielding requests for support from the community and other duties as assigned. Experience in program development is beneficial to support holiday drives, scholarship fund management, mentor workshops, prevention programs and referral services. This position requires detailed record keeping, excellent customer service skills, budgetary oversight [A/P] as well as superb communication skills, an ability to prioritize workload, and capacity to work with a wide variety of personalities. This position involves a high degree of diplomacy, tact, judgement, and commitment.
     
    Pay Range starts at $25.88/hour.

  • Fire Chief   (full-time)
     
    Responsible for administrative and supervisory work in directing life safety services in the protection of life and property inclusive of the prevention and extinguishing of fires; emergency medical services, public education, and environmental services. The Fire Chief also serves as Civil Defense Director (Emergency Management Director), Hazard Material Coordinator, Right-to-Know Coordinator, and other positions as directed by the Select Board.
     
    Annual Salary: Negotiable, DOQ. The current Fire Chief earns an annual salary of $168,000.

  • Firefighter – Paramedic   (full-time)
     
    Applicants should possess firefighting experience, a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Firefighter I and II certification is preferred. Starting salary: $61,512.00, excellent benefits.

  • Police Officer (full-time)
     
    We are seeking individuals who are highly motivated, self-disciplined, and possess a strong interest in the community policing philosophy. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: U.S. citizen; at least 21 years of age; High School graduate (college degree in
    criminal justice or related field preferred); and possess a valid Driver’s License & LTC. Applicants must be able to receive and maintain certification by the Massachusetts P.O.S.T. commission.
     
    Lateral Transfer or Full-Time MPTC Police Academy Training strongly preferred, but not required for ideal candidates. Cadets currently attending a full-time academy are encouraged to apply, as well as past applicants.

  • DPW – Equipment Operator/Truck Driver –   (part-time, full-time)
     
    Mature and versatile individuals for an open position in the Highway Division as either a Equipment Operator or Truck Driver based on experience and qualifications.
     
    The position involves work in all Southborough Public Works Divisions with a primary assignment to the Highway Division. Work includes typical Highway Division operations including on-call duty, brush mowing, tree work, hauling, line painting, street sweeping, catch basin repair, pot hole filling, plowing, and cemetery operations. Work also includes other Public Works operations including, but not limited to, water main break assistance and transfer station operations.
     
    A Commercial Drivers License, Class A, with air brakes is preferred or must be able to obtain within six months of employment. A Class 2A hoisting license is preferred or must be able to obtain within 12 months of employment. Basic mechanical knowledge and background in construction equipment, as well as general Public Works maintenance is preferable. Job Title and Pay Grade based on years relevant experience and licensure.
     
    Starting hourly pay range is $24.34 to $30.13 per hour.
