Town seeking volunteer to be Community Garden Coordinator

If you love Southborough’s Community Garden, you may want to step up to help keep it going.

The Conservation Commission is seeking a volunteer to be the Community Garden Coordinator.

Community Garden Coordinator Needed flyer The volunteer is the liaison between the gardeners and Conservation and the Stewardship committee for the community gardening plot on Breakneck Hill Conservation land.

To qualify, volunteers must be a resident with at least 3 years of gardening experience, be committed to organic gardening, and have “A willingness to collaborate and oversee gardeners”.

The hours involved are “as needed, dependent on season”. Those will be greater during the planting season, but work is also involved in planning and preparation in the off season.

Duties include preparing for the opening and closing of gardening season, configuring and preparing plots, coordinating registrations, coordinating with the Conservation Department on any site maintenance issues or potential conflicts, organizing events and resources for gardeners, and a season summary feedback report.
