Helen M. (Gimskie) Cross, 96, of Marlborough, and prior long-time resident of Southborough, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at her home. Born in Framingham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Tilley) Gimskie.
Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54years, Arnold C. Cross who died in 2011. She was also predeceased by her sister Constance Gimskie and her brother Robert Gimskie and his wife Joan.
She was a 1947 graduate of Ashland High School and was a bookkeeper by trade. She worked for numerous companies and finished her career at Assabet Valley Regional Vocational High School, where she worked for nearly 20 years as the Assistant Treasurer.
Above all else, Helen adored her family. She is survived by herbeloved daughter Karen Gustafson and her husband Robert of Marlborough, her sister, Elaine Campana and her husband Arthur of Sarasota, FL and her grandchildren Sarah Gustafson and Marin Gustafson. She is also survived by her good friend Carmella “Chickie” Martino, and several nieces, nephews andgodchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Church, 105 Southville Road, Southborough, MA 01772. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road, Southborough, MA.
In addition, a Celebration of Life will be held on March 6, 2025, at 6:00 pm at Carbone’s Restaurant, 280 Cedar Street, Hopkinton, MA. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers even if you cannot attend.
