The Rotary Club of Southborough is bringing back its popular Food Trucks series. The weekly “Festival” will open in a few weeks.
On Wednesday afternoons – evenings, May 20 – June 10, the public can head downtown to purchase snacks, dinner, and dessert from visiting food trucks.
Each event will feature four dinner trucks and one ice cream truck parked on St. Mark’s School’s big field. (That’s at the corner of Routes 85 & 30). Stay tuned for the food vendor lineup.
Rotary’s main purpose for organizing the annual festival is as a feel good, community event — with no admission fee. But they always use it to also support a charitable initiative. This year, they’ll be raising funds for Southborough Youth & Family Services’ camp scholarships program. (Stay tuned for details on that.)
The trucks are scheduled to sell food from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm (though things really get truckin’ around 5:00).
Enjoying the Festival
A few tables are put out for the public to use, but those can fill up. So, be prepared to do what most families do — take advantage of the grassy field, using picnic blankets and/or chairs.
Below are photos I took in past years:
There are no rain dates posted. I’ve been told in the past years that events are rain or shine, but I’m guessing that’s within reason. (If weather for one of these events is forecast for torrential rain/thunder for the entire three hours, I’d look for news on cancellation/postponement.)
