Jeannine B. Belli, 93, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, while a resident of Blaire House nursing home. She was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on May 30, 1933, the daughter of the late Hector and Marie Anne Leduc.
Jeannine worked as a nurse’s aide at Woonsocket Hospital in her early years, later working at Natick Laboratories in guest preparations and in customer service at Jiffy Lube. She was also a dedicated conservationist and community volunteer. In the late 1990s, she led the cleanup of the Southborough Reservoir and participated in many other local cleanup projects.
Jeannine married Roland Mercier in 1953, and they raised their five children in Holliston. In 1982, she married Richard Belli and made her home in Southborough.
She enjoyed knitting, creating puzzles for family and friends, and spending time with those she loved. Her faith, kindness, and wonderful sense of humor touched the lives of many.
Jeannine was predeceased by her husband, Richard Belli; brothers, Frederick, Hector and Paul Leduc; sisters Claire St. Pierre and Laura Plante; and stepdaughter Alisa Belli.
She is survived by her children, David Mercier, Diane Simpson, Jocelyn Mercier, Eric Mercier, and Robert Mercier; stepdaughter Amanda Loftus; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Jeannine will be lovingly remembered for her caring heart, devotion to her family, commitment to her community, strong faith, and quick wit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Jeannine’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 E. Main St. Milford on Saturday morning, September 5th from 9-10:30AM. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11AM. Interment will be private
