Obituary: Marie K. Dooling, 85

Marie Kramer Dooling, of Southborough and South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched throughout her years.

Marie was born in Chicopee, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Vincent and Marguerite (Scanlon) Kramer. She grew up in Western Massachusetts alongside her beloved sisters Deborah (Marsh) and Rosemary (Renn).

Marie was the beloved wife of 61 years to Brian M. Dooling of Framingham. She was a devoted mother to Kate Dooling Milano and her husband William Milano of Salem, Hon. Timothy V. Dooling and his wife Mary Gallagher of Natick and Curtis B. Dooling II and his wife Maura Pelham of Melrose, and a proud grandmother to Grace and Vincent Milano and Nora and Luke Dooling.

Marie graduated from Framingham State University with a degree in Elementary Education and then became a teacher in the Framingham Public Schools, first at Saxonville and then Stapleton Elementary Schools. Marie had a distinguished career as a teacher before pausing her professional life to focus on raising her three children. She was a devoted mother who never missed a sporting event, school concert or prom photo shoot. Marie later worked for many years as an office manager at Brossi Brothers Properties of Framingham.

Marie was happiest surrounded by her loving family on Cape Cod, going to Fenway Park with Brian to root for the Red Sox, and staying active with her countless friends. She loved her weekly bowling league, book club, FSU alumni porch parties and being around friends and family. The consummate social butterfly, Marie loved being around others, whether it was hosting family reunions on Cape Cod, hosting dinner parties, volunteering for Meals on Wheels or just walking with a friend. Marie’s wit, charm and gift of gab were contagious. When Marie was not out and about she was busy sending birthday cards, friendly letters or newspaper clippings.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Marie’s life by gathering for visiting hours at the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham on Thursday, September 17 from 4:00-7:00 pm. Marie’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew Parish, 105 Southville Road, Southborough on Friday, September 18 at 10am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s name to the Natick Service Council, 2 Webster Street, Natick, MA 01760 or https://natickservicecouncil.org.
